Shannon Thyme Klinger Named Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

MARIETTA, Ga. (March 5, 2008) - Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that on January 2, 2008, Shannon Thyme Klinger was named senior vice president and general counsel. In this role, Ms. Klinger directs all legal matters for the company as well as oversees the activities of the government affairs and corporate communications functions for the company in the U.S. She serves as a member of the U.S. Pharmaceutical Leadership Team.
Prior to joining Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Klinger served as the vice president of Marketing Compliance and Associate Counsel for Barr Laboratories/Duramed Pharmaceuticals in Washington, DC. Previously, she was a partner at Alston & Bird LLP in both Atlanta and Washington, DC.
Ms. Klinger is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the District of Columbia Bar. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a juris doctor degree with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
