Florence S. Gilson Named Vice President of Quality Assurance/Quality Control for Solvay Pharmaceuticals
Marietta, Ga. – December 13, 2006 – Florence S. Gilson has been promoted to vice president of quality assurance/quality control, the Americas, for Solvay Pharmaceuticals. In this role, Gilson assumes responsibility for quality assurance and quality control activities for the company in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
A 16-year veteran of Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Gilson began her career with the company in the regulatory affairs department where she performed various compliance-related functions. Over the next decade, she held positions of increasing responsibility and most recently was director of quality assurance compliance and training and senior compliance officer. In her new role, Gilson also will serve as a member of the U.S. Pharmaceutical Leadership Team.
Prior to joining Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Gilson was manager of quality control for Interbake Foods, Inc. in Richmond, Va. She began her career in quality assurance at Bio/dynamics in East Millstone, N.J.

Gilson graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., with a B.S. degree in biology. She is a member of the Society of Quality Assurance, Drug Information Association and the Food and Drug Law Institute.
