Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Awards 30 Scholarships to Students with Cystic Fibrosis
MARIETTA, Ga., Oct. 25, 2005 – Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has selected 30 students with cystic fibrosis (CF) to receive a 2005-2006 CREON® Family Scholarship. These winners are being recognized for their academic excellence as well as their courage in battling CF, an incurable genetic disease.
Each student will receive $2,000 per year for up to two years of study and a year’s supply of CREON® MINIMICROSPHERES® (pancrelipase delayed-release capsules, USP) and SourceCF® SOFTGELS Multivitamins. At the end of each two-year award period, recipients are eligible to apply for additional scholarship funding.
Now in its 13th year, the CREON® Family Scholarship program is funded by Solvay Pharmaceuticals. Since the program’s inception, the company has awarded nearly 300 scholarships totaling more than $1.6 million.
Scholarships are awarded to students based on academic achievement, financial need, leadership qualities and the ability to serve as a role model to others with CF.
