Michael R. Dornhecker Named Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations for Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Marietta, Ga. – April 11, 2005 – Michael R. Dornhecker has been named Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations for Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
In his new role, Dornhecker will oversee all aspects of product manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, site safety protocols and overall facility administration at the company’s Baudette, Minn., production facilities and Marietta, Ga., corporate offices. Dornhecker will report to Harold Shlevin, Ph.D., president and CEO, and serve as a member of the company’s management committee and leadership council. He succeeds Heinz Behrens, Ph.D., who will be returning to the company’s European operations in a new role.
Previously, Dornhecker served as General Manager of Operations for Solvay Pharmaceuticals’ manufacturing facility in Baudette, Minn., responsible for managing all manufacturing and operational support activities. Since joining the company in 1992, he has held a series of positions based including Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager and Manager of Packaging/Warehousing. Prior to joining Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Dornhecker held various manufacturing positions in the food industry with Frito Lay, Green Giant and the Pillsbury Company.
Dornhecker received his bachelor’s degree in supervision technology from Purdue University.
For the near future, Dornhecker will continue to be based in Baudette, Minn.
