Jean-Louis Anspach Named Vice President, Commercial Operations for Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Marietta, Ga. – April 4, 2005 – Jean-Louis Anspach has been named Vice President, Commercial Operations for Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. 

In his new role, Anspach will be responsible for managing all aspects of Solvay Pharmaceuticals’ primary care business unit, including sales and marketing activities for its specialized markets and cardiology portfolios.  Anspach will report to Jim Hynd, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, and will serve as a member of the company’s management team.

Anspach previously served as Vice President of Marketing where he oversaw marketing initiatives for the company’s suite of cardiology, gastroenterology, mental health, women’s health and specialized markets products.  He also served as president and chief executive officer of Unimed Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Solvay Pharmaceuticals.  He joined Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 1999 as director of business development.

A veteran of the Solvay S.A. group of companies, Anspach previously served as president of Solkatronic Chemicals, Inc., a company that manufactures and distributes ultra-high purity gases and chemicals for the semiconductor industry.  He also served as president of Solvay Fluorides, Inc., a company that distributes organic and inorganic fluorides in North America for use in a wide range of industries. 

Anspach earned an “ingenieur commercial” degree in 1982 from Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.  He also received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1983.
