Marietta, Ga. (March 24, 2003) - Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. introduces Paul Harding as its new vice president of human resources. Harding will oversee recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations and development programs for the company's 1,000 member sales force and 700 corporate and manufacturing employees in addition to managing the company's health, safety, environment and security functions. He is an officer of the corporation and sits on its management and operating committees.
Prior to joining Solvay Pharmaceuticals, the U.S. pharmaceuticals headquarters of Belgian parent company Solvay S.A., Harding gained extensive experience with other U.S. operations of global Solvay S.A. business units. Most recently, he was vice president of human resources and communications for Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C. (high performance plastics). Harding has also served as vice president of human resources and communications for Solvay Minerals, Inc. (mining and soda ash manufacturing), and as vice president of human resources, regulatory affairs and communications for Solvay Interox, Inc. (hydrogen peroxide). He first joined the Solvay organization as a corporate attorney for Solvay America, the parent organization of Solvay S.A. business units operating in the United States.
Harding began his career as an attorney with Bracewell & Patterson, L.L.P. in Houston, Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree and juris doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin. Harding is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and is an active member of the American Bar Association, American Corporate Counsel Association, Society for Human Resource Management and Georgia State University's Senior Human Resources Roundtable. He resides in Alpharetta, Ga., with his wife and two children.
